How to Pay for Gold and Silver Purchases at GoldSilver

We accept a variety of secure payment methods to make purchasing precious metals simple and convenient.

  • Orders paid by bank wire or paper check receive our best pricing with a 4% discount; these payments may take slightly longer to process and ship.
  • We also accept:
    • Credit and debit cards
    • PayPal (including balances, bank transfers, e-checks, and credit/debit account payments)
    • Venmo
    • Bitcoin

Bank Wire

Bank wires, including domestic Fed transfers and most international SWIFT wires, are accepted with no per-order minimum. Wire payments typically allow orders to ship the next business day after the funds are received.

Limit: $1,000,000 per bank wire order

Paper Check

We accept personal and business checks drawn on U.S. banks only. To ensure the check clears, shipping for check-paid orders is delayed for 5 business days after receipt.

Limit: $25,000 per order; a photo of a valid government ID is required for all checks.

For both wire and check orders, you may be asked at checkout to secure the order with a deposit—typically 5%—charged to a credit or debit card. This deposit is applied in full to the order and secures your quoted price, protecting against market changes and losses from cancelled orders.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin payments are processed within 24 hours and orders typically ship quickly after processing. Bitcoin purchases receive a 3% discount compared with credit card pricing; this is 1% higher than the cash price available for wire and check payments. Note that Bitcoin network transaction fees may apply.

Limit: $1,000,000 per Bitcoin order

Credit and Debit Cards

Most credit and debit card payments clear immediately at checkout. We accept the major card networks and process card purchases quickly so orders can ship without delay. Card transactions may be subject to daily or per-transaction limits and rigorous fraud screening due to the size and nature of precious-metal purchases.

Limit: $75,000 per card order

PayPal and Venmo

We accept PayPal and Venmo payments, including PayPal account balances, card payments, and card-secured bank transfers. Payments made from account balances, cards, or secure transfers are processed immediately. Unsecured bank transfers through PayPal are rare but may be held by PayPal for up to 14 days before funds are released; orders ship the next business day after funds clear.

Limit: $75,000 per PayPal/Venmo order

Because of the transaction sizes involved, credit card and PayPal/Venmo orders are screened for fraud and may occasionally be declined even when the account appears in good standing. If a payment is rejected, please contact your card issuer or PayPal to resolve any holds so you can reattempt the transaction. We will notify you at checkout if a payment is declined.
