Selling your gold or silver bullion online is simple when you sell to GoldSilver. All sell transactions officially settle after two business days, at which time funds become available for withdrawal. When placing your sell order, choose one of the following payment methods:
- Physical check — Sent via USPS regular mail within two business days of settlement; delivery typically takes 5–10 business days depending on your location (no fee).
- Bank wire transfer — Available to U.S. customers and required for all international sellbacks; $25 fee; wired the business day after settlement if the request is received before cutoff.
Selling From Home
If you are sending metals from home, your shipment will be processed at our storage facility. Upon arrival the items undergo verification and are checked into secure vault storage. A sell transaction can be completed once arrival and verification are finished. Verification time may vary depending on vault capacity. If any discrepancies or adjustments are needed, our customer service team will contact you before finalizing the order.
Selling From an IRA
When selling metals held in an IRA, funds become available for withdrawal from your custodian two business days after the sale settles. After that point you may elect to take a distribution or request an IRA-to-IRA transfer according to your custodian’s procedures.
Important Sellback Information
All sales are governed by our Sellback Policy.
- Certain sales of specific products to U.S. persons may require tax reporting. If your sale triggers reporting requirements, a Social Security number and/or passport number will be required. We will contact you to collect any necessary tax information as part of the sellback process.
- To comply with anti-money-laundering and regulatory requirements, you may be asked to verify your identity before a sale is completed. Verification may include one or more of the following:
- A current photo of a driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued ID that matches the name on your order or account
- A voided check or recent bank statement
- An automated phone call or text message to confirm your contact details
- A phone conversation with a GoldSilver representative
